BMWMCGR Presents... Peninsula Party 2025!

BMW Motorcycles of Grand Rapids presents

Peninsula Party 2025!

Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice - If you are looking for a pleasant peninsula, look around you. Our state is defined by two peninsulas, but within each of those peninsulas are literally hundreds of others. We want to provide the community a fun way to discover more about our state while encouraging riding your motorcycle!

Ride to each of the four defined peninsulas and take a photo including the defined marker, and your bike in one shot.  Provide proof that you rode to each one with said photo to BMW Motorcycles of Grand Rapids.  Do this during the 2025 riding season and submit to Steve or Max by September 13th, 2025.  Everyone who visits all 4 will receive a complimentary, commemorative t-shirt.  Then all finishers will be entered into a drawing for a free annual service on their BMW or RE motorcycle.

Destinations can be achieved in any order, and in any number of rides. Take all summer if you want! You can ride any motorcycle for these photos (does not have to be a BMW or RE), however the annual service prize is limited to BMW/RE.

Lost Peninsulas

Extreme SE corner of the state, the only part of the state that you have to drive through another state to reach.  Search for Lost Peninsula Marina in your GPS or Google maps.  Most of this peninsula appears to be private with limited access (there are a couple of restaurants on the west side of the entry road).  Use caution when taking photos.  You may have to park the bike near the marker and be in the roadway to get the right picture.

Port Austin State Harbor

Top of the thumb, easy to get to.  The roadway to the left of the sign is the harbor EXIT, so use caution when pulling in and staging for your photo.

Leelanau State Park

Top of the pinkie, you will proceed about 10 miles north of Northport.  The sign is just before you enter the state park proper.  Use caution as there is a slight drop from road level if you attempt to part right in front of the sign

Beginning of US Hwy 41

North of Copper Harbor, top of the top, just a couple of miles past Copper Harbor is the northern terminus of US41.  Relatively simple to park in front of this sign for a prime photo.

Visiting each of these peninsulas also gives the opportunity to see the 4 great lakes that Michigan touches. For the adventurous types you can take the road north of Copper Harbor around to Lac La Belle.  For the long-distance minded you could turn this into an Iron Butt ride (see ironbutt.org for details and their rulz).

How to Submit Your Party

We would prefer that you submit pictures through your social media, either Facebook or Instagram. If you do, please include #bmwmcgr and #peninsulaparty2025 to ensure we can find you! If you are not comfortable or able to submit this way, no problem! Submit your photo(s) to either Steve or Max (emails are available below) digitally or in-person. We may ask to post these photos to our own social media to brag about you. After we receive all four photos from you, we will reach about regarding commemorative t-shirt details and sizing.

Either way, share cool things you saw along the way, tips you might have for riders after yourself, the route you incorporated one of these peninsulas on, anything you like!
